The weather here was a bit crap so decided to run on the treadmill. Felt pretty good!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Then we had an engagement party for a few of our friends, which was great but I wore heels and there were zero chairs. So standing for 4+ hours in those babies was a bit much for my poor little feet. Had to ice my feet and take some ibuprofen when I got home to help with the swelling. They&amp;#8217;re still pretty horribly sore now, so taking it easy today for sure.&lt;/p&gt;

I can&amp;#8217;t. I went to a networking thing last night that a friend from work brought me along to, and the boss of this pr/marketing company was there and she was awesome. What I didn&amp;#8217;t realise is that my friend had pitched me hardcore for a new role in Perth since they&amp;#8217;re expanding out here. She basically offered me the job last night, then today we met for coffee for half an hour and she did offer it to me. Company sounds amazing - lovely people, supportive environment where you work hard but are appreciated and rewarded. So apparently she&amp;#8217;s sending through the job offer in writing by Tuesday!!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;WHATTTTTT. I can&amp;#8217;t believe this. She never even asked for my résumé. Just trusts our mutual friend and said she has a gut feeling about me. Tomorrow I have a work event thing at 5, so no point coming home when I would just have to head right back again. And Friday I promised a few friends we&amp;#8217;d get together and then going to dinner with the in-laws.&lt;/p&gt;

So I just started hobbling. Decided I&amp;#8217;m postponing to 30 day squat challenge until after the 4K on Sunday May 26. For the next two weeks running is my focus, after that I can afford some sore days. But I&amp;#8217;m basically limping at the moment. Took a warm shower to loosen then up and stretched out multiple times but I think this is just gonna take a day or two to clear up unfortunately.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;But did sign up for the gym! It&amp;#8217;s open 24/7, staffed a good chunk of the day and you get a free personal training session on sign up which is nice. Going to sign up for a pack of those I think to start with and help me work out a routine. Don&amp;#8217;t think I&amp;#8217;ll actually get a chance to go until the weekend unfortunately - got the doctor tomorrow, car shopping Wednesday (the in-laws are buying me a little used Fiesta. Yes, they&amp;#8217;re amazing), networking event Thursday and belated Mother&amp;#8217;s Day dinner Friday. I&amp;#8217;m not used to being this busy! I don&amp;#8217;t like it haha. Oh man! Did the 30 min Conditioning Corps, which is a beginner workout in the &amp;#8220;get toned&amp;#8221; section. Dripping sweat by the end! Opened up with Day 1 of 30 Day Squat challenge - 50 squats - and Day 1 of the 30 Day Crunch challenge - 20 crunches. Legs/butt is a bit sore, so we&amp;#8217;ll see how I&amp;#8217;m feeling tomorrow.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Had an awesome chicken sandwich for lunch. We buy a roast chicken once or twice a week, so really lean, healthy meat, had it on a fresh made wholewheat roll with some edam cheese from the Margaret River Dairy Company. Delicious!&lt;/p&gt;

But I just kind of dozed off and one until 10:30 when I finally got up. I had a bit of a meltdown last night about being unhappy and missing my parents and my dogs and my life in America, and how I don&amp;#8217;t know how long I can live here because I&amp;#8217;ve been so sad lately, all that. So when I woke up the boy came into our room and said he&amp;#8217;d spent the last few hours while I was sleeping researching puppies and thinks we should get one for my birthday in July!!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Still need to figure out the logistics, the breed I want is what I have at home - a Boston terrier - but there aren&amp;#8217;t any breeders in WA so we&amp;#8217;d need to go to Adelaide or something to get one. So I&amp;#8217;m open to looking at other breeds, but ideally something that doesn&amp;#8217;t require much (if any) grooming, is on the smaller side (so it can be picked up easily if it got injured), gets on well with cats, great with kids and doesn&amp;#8217;t need constant entertainment/can be left alone while we&amp;#8217;re at work. Suggestions welcome!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But yeah, did a run today (week 4 C25K again) and it went alright. Just used the puppy as motivation :) And saw Star Trek this afternoon. Guy,s just go. On my way home now to make some brownies from scratch for dinner with friends tonight. They&amp;#8217;re jetting off to London on Monday because the girl won a free trip to cook with Jamie Oliver! How crazy is that? PRIVATE COOKING LESSON WITH JAMIE OLIVER FOLLOWED BY LUNCH. I&amp;#8217;m too jealous for words really.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;So needed to get this girl a birthday present - I&amp;#8217;m a few weeks late - and picked her up a slow cooker. This thing weighs at least 20lbs. I just carried it around the city from the shop to the train station for 20 minutes and my arms are shaking like crazy! I&amp;#8217;d say decent arm workout for sure. And got another 10-20 minutes carrying to come. Not bad for my typically lazy Fridays :)&lt;/p&gt;

Expected the managing editor to then ask me to sit down, tell him why I&amp;#8217;m leaving, maybe even offer to switch me to a different department (which I would have declined). Nope. Editor just emailed me in the afternoon and said that my contract requires me to give at least four weeks notice, but since I have approved vacation on what would be four weeks from now, they want me to stay until Thursday May 30.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;At least I only have a little more than three weeks left, but a bit bummed I can&amp;#8217;t just get out of there faster. Good news is since I leave that night for America anyway on what was meant to be a 3 day trip, I&amp;#8217;ve decided to spend the $100 to change the ticket and stay for a week. I think the extra days with the parents, puppies and friends will do me good.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Now: Time for cover letters. God I hate those!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Note: Rest day today because my calves/achilles tendons are being stupid. They were a bit sore after the run but then I wore heels today and they&amp;#8217;re protesting quite a bit. Tried to do jumping jacks and my body just kind of laughed at me. Level 4, day 1 of C25K and I was okay! 5 min warmup, 3 min run, 90 sec walk, 5 min run, 2.5 min walk, 3 min run, 90 sec walk, 5 min run. Last segment ended up being about 4.5 minutes because of crossing streets and all that but so happy I was able to complete it!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Obvs ran a bit slower than before but proud nonetheless.
